Video of cars sliding down an icy hill and crashing

As a contributing member of the blogosphere, it is incumbent upon me, upon discovering items on the internet which may be of general interest, to link to them. Through the magic of syndication, pings, aggregation, and myriad other HTTP-based sorcery, webloggers shine metaphorical flashlights on the dark corners of the internet, revealing their bounty to the world.

Herewith, then, is a video of cars sliding down an icy hill and crashing into each other. Enjoy.

The Moonshine Revellers Reunion Concert

The Moonshine Revellers are reuniting to perform a show at Steamers Pub on January 13. Semi-Louise is opening up. Steamers is at 570 Yates St. Doors open at 9pm, cover is $5. This may be your last chance to see us live…

Update: Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a great time and we hope that you did too. Unfortunately Semi-Louise had to cancel due to illness, but One Less Felon did an excellent job of filling in. Photos from the event are here. There are none of our band in that collection since I forgot to get someone to take pictures, but there are a few of One Less Felon and some beautiful pictures of Chelsea.

Jay Dunphy and David Chenery on CFUV

I almost forgot, Jay Dunphy and David Chenery are going to be performing live on CFUV tomorrow at 3:30. I might poke my head in the door as well to sing some backup vocals.

CFUV is UVic’s student-run radio station, broadcasting to the Victoria area at 101.9 FM. If you’re not in the vicinity, you can stream it over the web as well.

Christmas in Comox

The holidays were very kind to me. Fun parties with good friends, including people I hadn’t seen in ages. Good times spent with my family. My parents have a new Bichon Frise cross puppy named Poppy. Her hobbies include chewing things, barking loudly and running around in mad circles for no reason at all. Thankfully she didn’t chew any of my Christmas presents (she was too busy ripping apart the carpet in the basement, I guess). I took her over to Tracy’s house where she and Tracy’s dog Molly had a grand old time chasing each other around.

I got golf clubs for Christmas, fulfilling one of my Christmas wish list items. They belonged to my grandpa, but he’s slowing down a bit in his old age so he thought I could make good use of them. I also got a gift certificate for a couple golf lessons from my parents. So yeah, basically the only thing that’s gonna be keeping me out of the PGA is my lack of a weird name. If you want to be a pro you have to have a name like Tiger Woods or Fred Funk or Fuzzy Zoeller. Maybe I could get my name changed. Zippy Barglesmith, that has a nice ring to it.

If you haven’t donated to the tsunami relief effort yet, go do that. It’ll make you feel good, even if you’re an emotionally distant nihilist like myself.
